IMAGE-GUIDED IMRT (IG-IMRT) brings astounding precision to radiation therapy, making treatments more effective while reducing side effects. Unlike conventional linear accelerators (even those with IMRT capability), the built-in imaging of IG-IMRT allows for precise adjustments while the patient is on the treatment table. With most cancers, there is some movement of the tumor from day to day.

Think of IMAGE-GUIDED IMRT as a "smart bomb" that tracks this movement.
